Thrive: Meditation and Mindfulness 2019

Next 8 week course begins: Tuesday 22nd October – Tuesday 10th December 2019

There are many difficult aspects of the cancer experience that patients find difficult to deal with; loss of control, uncertainty and constant change are three that stand out, and are often the most challenging aspects of coping with cancer.

The mindfulness elements of accepting things as they are, turning towards rather than away from difficult emotional experience, and embracing change as a constant are helpful antidotes to these difficult realities.

Mindfulness has been demonstrated to significantly lower scores on depression, anxiety, anger and confusion as well as decrease cortisol levels – the stress hormone. This course is an internationally recognised course, which originated in Canada with such success that it has been replicated the world over. It includes both meditation and yoga components. Mindfulness teaches us to be unconditionally present with whatever is happening no matter what.

We invite anyone who has experienced breast cancer to join us for this wonderful program.
