COVID UPDATE – Pink Race Day

COVID-19 Update – Pink Race Day

In light of the recent COVID-19 restrictions the Newcastle Jockey Club, Club NSW and Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation have made the decision to go ahead with the PINK Race Day this Saturday, however COVID-19 restrictions will be put into place to ensure the safety of our community. Under the guidance of the NSW Government the following restrictions will apply:

  • Race Day attendees will be reduced to 50% and will be required to follow social distancing rules, including wearing a face mask unless eating or drinking,
  • People who have purchased tickets to the race day will be contacted by Club NSW via email, so please keep an eye out in your inbox.
  • If you would like a refund, please contact events@njc.com.au or call 02 49 61 15 73 who will be able to assist. There will be an option to donate $10 of your ticket to the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Pink Race Day is the biggest fundraising event of the year for HBCF. The Foundation rely on the funds raised at the race day to provide essential support services to local families going through breast cancer. Last year the race day was cancelled due to COVID which had a huge impact on HBCF.

If you would link to donate the $10 or $20 donation from your ticket that was going towards supporting locals through breast cancer please click the link below to make a quick tax deductible donation.

Whilst we are disappointed, we are committed to doing our bit and ensuring we can return to ‘normal’ as soon as possible. If anything changes between now and Saturday, the NJC will let you know. Thank you for your ongoing support and for understanding.

Q & A for Race Day

I would like a refund for my ticket to the Pink Race Day. Who do I contact?

The Newcastle Jockey Club will be handling all ticket sales and refunds. Please contact NJC at events@njc.com.au or call them on 02 4961 1573. More information will be available on their website throughout the week.

How will the 50% reduced ticket capacity be determined? Who will decide and how will I know if my ticket is still valid?

The NJC will be contacting all ticket holders over the next few days. Many people have already asked for refunds and are unable to attend for a series of reasons.  NJC will be offering refunds to any ticket holders who wish to take them and then deciding on who attends once the numbers have reduced late in the week.  HBCF is the charity partner for the race day and has no role in ticket sales or refunds.

Can I still donate a portion of my ticket to help local families through breast cancer?

YES! After the race day being cancelled last year and this year now having a reduced capacity, HBCF desperately need donations to fund the cancer support services for local families. You can donate the $10, $20 or full price of your ticket directly here. All donations will be tax deductible and will go directly towards support services.

I am unsure if everyone on my table or in my group can now attend, what can I do?

Please contact NJC on 02 4961 1573. The ticketing and administration team will be able to access your booking and help you find a solution.
