Insurance advisernet inaugural Golf Day success

IA MID-NORTH COAST RAISED $12,859.34 TO SUPPORT HUNTER FAMILIES NAVIGATING BREAST CANCER

Insurance Advisernet’s Director, Jeremy Thornton, and the team rallied together quickly to plan and create what resulted in a fun-filled, successful charity golf day raising funds for Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation’s local breast cancer families.

Both IA and HBCF were thrilled with the turnout considering the weather conditions on the day, all guests came along filled with enthusiasm and generosity! The preparation and support provided by the team at Pacific Dunes Golf Club did not go unnoticed. Guests enjoyed breakfast before heading out for golf and finishing up with a delicious lunch and further fundraising activities.

Raising an incredible $12,859.35 for their first-ever Charity Golf Day, HBCF is grateful to have been selected as the team’s charity of choice.

“We chose to support HBCF as one of our team had their mother pass away of Breast Cancer and spoke of all people going through treatment needing to receive the best assistance they can. HBCF is a local Charity that does not receive government funding and many in the community have spoken of the support provided on a shoestring budget. For us, it’s identifying a Hunter-based group supporting Hunter people with the everyday necessities to alleviate the stress already surrounding treatment,” said Jeremy.

The Newcastle Knights donated an auction item to assist IA to reach their fundraising target and said “We share your passion for these important services, and we’ve been pleased to support them over several years through our Club GRANTS program. They’re a terrific organisation making a meaningful difference to people fighting breast cancer.”

HBCF Administration Officer & Fundraising Support, Emily Dwyer, had a fabulous time meeting the team. “What a beautiful group, wanting nothing in return, hearts set on supporting as best they possibly can,” Emily said.

HBCF thanks IA for their support as well as the wonderful sponsors of the day – Johns Lyng Group, Johns Lyng Regional Builders, Allianz, Curtis & Blair Real Estate, Insurance Advisernet Foundation and MCG Quantity Surveyors. As well as all raffle and auction prize donors.

“HBCF rely on the support from our community to continue to provide vital services to our local people undergoing active treatment for breast cancer and recovery from surgery. Without the generosity of our community, HBCF simply wouldn’t be,” says HBCF General Manager, Abbey.

HBCF and IA look forward to continuing to team together in the future, with IA’s Charity Golf Day determined to support local breast cancer families annually.
