Fundraise now

The Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation offers immediate and practical support for local families undergoing treatment for breast and ovarian cancer. Throughout every step of the breast cancer journey, from diagnosis to recovery and beyond, HBCF offer support and services.

HBCF is completely funded by the local Newcastle community. Funds raised by the community goes directly into providing on the ground assistance to the 1 in 8 Novocastrians who are diagnosed with breast and ovarian cancer each year.

Through the generous support of the Hunter, HBCF provides a range of supportive care services including: private transport to medical appointments and surgery, comfort packs, care packages, fresh food deliveries, lawn maintenance and more.

Empowerment programs including to support and promote physical and psychological recovery after breast cancer are also available for Hunter families. Through a suite of meditation, mindfulness, fitness, psychology, retreats and support group programs, locals are supported to ensure they get back to living their everyday healthy lives.

Ways to get involved

What can I do to help?

There are lots of different ways you can help support local families through breast cancer.

We often get asked “what can I do to support HBCF and raise money?”.

The answer is simple – whatever you like!

You can fundraise within the community however you would like to do so – whether it be a virtual catch up, morning tea at work, a BBQ with friends, a school fundraiser, in lieu of presents for a special occasion or by painting the pavement pink with a fitness pledge, it’s up to you!

The important thing is that you do something that you’re comfortable with and have fun organising it. Nothing too big or too small is out of the question, get as creative as you like!

Paint the
pavement pink

Choose a physical challenge, set a fitness goal and raise funds for breast cancer. Set a kilometer goal and start raising funds with your friends. Start a group bike ride and support local families through breast cancer at the same time. There’s no deadlines or cut off dates, support local families in your own time.

Pink up your VIRTUAL CATCH UP

Host a pink virtual catch up and raise funds for breast cancer. Don’t let COVID lockdown stop you from catching up and getting creative online to support local families. Host a breakfast or lunch, cook together online, make a pink drink and chat to the girls. The options are endless.

Pledge in Pink

Make it pink and show your support. Pledge to wear pink socks for a month, paint your nails pink, dye your hair pink, wear pink clothes every day. Create your pledge on your own just giving page and kick off your pink pledge.

Celebrate in pink

Celebrate a special occasion by supporting breast cancer instead of gifts. By celebrating in pink you will be making your wedding, retirement, or even your next birthday party count.

"I fundraise for HBCF because I have seen firsthand the difference the support services make to Newcastle families. I choose to support a local charity because I want the funds I raise to help people in my town. HBCF does exactly this."
