Meet Marianne Timbrell-Chapman

client care navigator

As the Client Care Navigator at the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation (HBCF) since June 2022, Marianne Timbrell-Chapman plays a pivotal role in assisting breast cancer patients and their families throughout their challenging journey. With a rich background in marketing, including roles with multinational companies like Coca-Cola, ING Bank, and GlaxoSmithKline, Marianne’s career took a meaningful turn when she transitioned to the nonprofit sector, driven by a desire to make a positive impact on individuals’ lives.

At HBCF, Marianne ensures that clients reach their appointments on time by organizing transport services, coordinating cleaning and other essential services, and serving as a compassionate ear for clients to share their experiences. Her daily routine involves making phone calls to both new and existing clients, providing emotional support, and managing various aspects of client care.

Motivated by the close-knit culture at HBCF and a desire to contribute to the local community, Marianne finds fulfillment in her role. Her personal connection to breast cancer, with her mother having battled the disease in the late 1970s, adds a deeply personal layer to her commitment to making a difference. Marianne believes in creating an environment where clients feel heard and supported, making her work both rewarding and impactful.

Outside of her professional commitments, Marianne enjoys cooking, camping, spending time with her family, and finding balance through hobbies like meditation. A fun fact about Marianne is her childhood appearance on Romper Room at the age of 4.

Marianne’s advice to those seeking to make a difference is simple: pick up the phone and ask how you can help. She emphasizes the importance of community support in making a meaningful impact on the lives of those going through a breast cancer journey.

In a message to the HBCF community and supporters, Marianne expresses deep gratitude, acknowledging that the foundation’s work is all about “Hunter People Helping Hunter People.” She highlights the overwhelming support from the community and the difference it makes every day to someone facing breast cancer. Marianne’s hope is for this collective effort to continue, making a lasting impact and offering steadfast support to those affected by breast cancer.
