Stroud Rugby League Club held a Pink Charity Day on Saturday 27 July 2013. HBCF President Rosalie Taggart and HBCF Secretary Norma Meikle attend on behalf of the Foundation to see the team all decked out in pink! A fantastic day was organised by Michael Townsend and the committee and they look like having raised around $5,500.

HBCF volunteer driver Helen Belcher and her girlfriends organised a bus trip to Pokolbin on Saturday 13 July to raise money for the Foundation. A great day was had by all and $1325.30 was raised! These fabulous supporters of the Foundation have also got two more fundraisers organised for later in the year. Click here for more images.

Hundreds of women and men of the Hunter affected by breast cancer will benefit from the support of local Registered Clubs. Clubs NSW and local Registered Clubs joined forces to hold a charity race day on Saturday, 7 July 2013 at Newcastle Jockey Club. This was the fifth annual event supported by local Clubs and raised more than $30,000 for the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation - a total of almost $100,000 since it was established in 2009.

The enthusiastic students from Passmores College again hosted a fundraiser to benefit the Foundation as part of their course. They organised a Bowling Night at Rutherford Ten Pin Bowling Lanes on Saturday 15 June, with merchandise stall, raffles and teams prizes on the night. They raised $6521.70 – a wonderful result!

Michelle Faithful has once again organised a great ladies Golf Day which was held at Merewether Golf Club on Friday 17 May 2013. This event was a sell out, with guest speaker Sarah Osmotherly from Sugar Coated Mama entertaining the crowd with her anecdotes. Golf may not have been a focus, with attendees enjoying the opportunity to get out of the office on a sunny day and raise money for two local charities.

Best known for their ability to jump into the winter waters for a swim, the Newcastle Pirates Winter Swimming Club has added a great deal of warmth to a local charity. The Pirates recently presented the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation with $4,000 which it raised at a charity breakfast last September.

Local people with breast cancer urgently need your help. Newcastle Airport and Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation are calling on people in the Port Stephens area to help people who are currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Foundation President, Rosalie Taggart, joined with Airport Manager Aviation Business Development, David Nye, to launch a campaign to attract volunteers to help transport patients to and from medical appointments.

Fun, friendship and music are bringing together local people who have been touched by breast cancer. In January 2013 the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation and the University of Newcastle Conservatorium of Music agreed to establish a choir for people who have been touched by breast cancer. The Newcastle Conservatorium Breast Cancer Choir (aka Choir of 'Hard Knockers') was officially launched on Saturday 6 April 2012 at the University of Newcastle Conservatorium.

Two friends with a mutual fear of heights took a leap of faith for themselves and two local charities in March. Anthony Burke and Jo O’Malley set themselves a challenge to skydive for the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation and the Hunter Prostate Cancer Alliance on Sunday, March 17. But for Anthony his challenge became even greater when he set himself a challenge to lose a number of kilos to allow him to jump.
