Well known Hunter-based real estate agent, Walkom, has joined forces with Wanderers Juniors for the Boot Out Breast cancer initiative being held tomorrow (Saturday 21 June 2014) at Number 5 sports ground in Newcastle. After hearing about the initiative Scott Walkom spoke with Jeremy Raftos and the Wanderers Juniors, and agreed to top-up the Clubs donations by donating a further $2,000.

Junior Rugby players across the region will kick-start a local initiative to assist people with breast cancer this weekend. This Saturday 21 June, 10 of the region's Junior Rugby Clubs will wear pink socks as part of the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation's Boot Out Breast Cancer campaign to help raise funds that will be used to help local people and their families while they undergo treatment.

What a glorious way to spend a Saturday afternoon, sipping champagne and trying on some of the most divine hatsa and fascinators you will ever see.  Cherie from Fashion Eight Fascinators hosted a High Tea on Saturday, 26 April 2014 at Toronto Country Club to launch her new range and used the event as a fundraiser for the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation. We are pleased to report her event raised $2,287.50!

  Thank you once again to Anthony Burke and his hard working crew for organising a BBQ at Bunnings Cessnock on Sunday, 27 April 2014.  Some very excited children waited in anticipation for the arrival of Mickey and Minnie Mouse and they were not disappointed as they spent time wandering through the shop having photos and meeting with some beautifully dressed “Minnie Mice”!

  A huge thank you to Naomi Tyrrell, Independent Director Mary Kay Australia, and her team for their effort is raising awareness of the work we do at the Foundation. On Wednesday, 23 April 2014 she organised a Community Stall at Stockland Jesmond. Naomi and her team are already planning other stalls during 2014, so stay tuned for details!

This week we were pleased to announce a new partnership with local business The Plumbing & Electrical Doctor that will help to support fundraising and awareness for breast cancer throughout the region. The partnership was launched with the unveiling of a newly decorated plumbing vehicle, complete with HBCF’s pink livery.

Over $11,000 raised through the Pink Day For BK. The Hunter Ports Newcastle Jets recently held a PINK Day for the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation, raising both funds and awareness. The count is in and $11,097 was raised in total!
