Saturday 23 May 2015 saw Cessnock Leagues Club overflowing with community spirit and gut-busting laughter as the people of the Hunter came out to support two of their favourite causes: Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation and the Prostate Cancer Alliance. Organised by Anthony Burke and a dedicated team of amazing volunteers, Dine 4 Charity raised over $15,000 from ticket sales, raffles and other fundraising activities.

The annual Divas on the Green charity golf day was again a sellout success at Merewether Golf Club on Friday, 15 May 2015. With over 150 women participating, the event raised $20,000 for both the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. Thank you to all the wonderful sponsors and participants. A fantastic day was had by all.

Thanks to the Central Charlestown Butcher Boys for hosting the Foundation at their season opener on Sunday. The Butcher Boys are a local rugby league team proud to support a local charity to get their message out about assisting local people with a breast cancer diagnosis.

On Sunday 15 March 350 players from Valentine Eleebana Junior Rugby League Club donned pink socks to kick off the Boot Out Breast Cancer campaign for 2015.   What dawned as a beautiful day soon turned sour with hail, thunder and lightning interrupting play. After many stops and starts due to the weather, the brave Valo Devils completed their day with every match played in pink socks!

After a busy 2014, the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation ended the year on a high with a significant increase in our supportive care program, due largely to our hard working, devoted team of volunteers and the dedication and focus of our Supportive Care Coordinator, Paula Greentree.

We have launched the Boot Out/Shoot Out/Bowl Out Breast Cancer Campaign for 2015! Whatever your sporting club is, you can get involved and help to raise valuable funds for the Foundation. All you need to do is purchase pink socks for your team at $10.00 each (supplied with stickers, tattoos, collection tins and balloons) and wear them at your games and participate in the "pink movement" that is taking Newcastle by storm.

For the fourth year running we are proud to present the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation Scholarship, in partnership with the University of Newcastle. Awarded to a nursing student in their second year course within the complementary therapies in health care course, the scholarship is a $1,000 grant to assistant the student in their studies.
