On 8th October 2016, 450 riders set out from Hexham and rode to Denman in the Upper Hunter on a fundraising extravaganza called the Newcastle Pink Ribbon Ride for the Foundation. It was an absolutely amazing turnout, with hundreds of bikes and people all dressed in pink. The Royal Hotel in Denman was a hive of activity with BBQs, aucitons, raffles and stalls as the community pulled together.

On Sunday 13th September we saw Merewether Surfhouse packed to the brim with 250 lovely ladies in their tiaras! What a fabulous afternoon it was! A perfect Spring afternoon, the champagne was flowing and so was the generosity. Our merchandise stand was severely depleted and we ran out of raffle tickets in a hurry and we forced to send our Treasurer Rosalie on a hunt to find some more! The Board was absolutley blown away by the support.

The annual Divas on the Green charity golf day was held again at Merewether Golf Club on Friday, 13th May 2016. With over 150 women participating, the club was full of colour and positive energy as the ladies (and a few men) took to the course for a few hours of fun and bubbles! The event raised $14,000 for both the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.

The Dudley Redhead United Football Club held their Boot Out Breast Cancer pink round on Saturday 21st May 2016 to raise much needed funds for the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Diamonds Netball Club held their Shoot Out Breast Cancer round on Sunday 20th March at the local Thornton Netball Courts. Organised by Club President Tynatia Lewis, the event raised $3,160.00. Husbands, boyfriends, dads, brothers, mums, sisters, girlfriends and club sponsors fielded the teams, attracting players aged 10 years through to 55.

Next time you're at the airport, while you're buying the paper and one of those neck support pillows, why not pick up a pink Christmas bauble? Newcastle Airport is selling the decorations for $2 as part of its Christmas appeal to support the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation. "This Christmas we've decorated our airport terminal in the vibrant pink of our charity of choice, the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation," says Newcastle Airport Chief Dr Peter Cock.

A massive thank you to Tanya Murphy and Jade Tolar who organised the Boobs on the Balcony fundraiser held on 17 October at The Gunyah Hotel which raised a staggering $20,602 for the Foundation.

Last night the Foundation was presented with a generous donation of $10,000 from the Tour de Cure after the first day of riding for their CAN4CANCER Tour. Over three days the team of 163 riders and support crew will ride 330 kms and donate a massive $280,000 to cancer research, support and prevention projects. The Foundation wishes the team the best of luck with the remaining two days of the tour.
