A choir that aims to bring together people who have been touched by breast cancer to enjoy music, fun and friendship has been established by Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation and the Conservatorium at the University of Newcastle.
The Choir was created by local entertainer and music teacher, Lauren O’Brien who is also known for her alter ago Denise Gold. As the ‘Principal of the School of Hard Knockers’ Ms O’Brien came up with the concept to allow people to connect but also to raise awareness of the work of the Foundation.
The Conservatorium has supported the choir by waiving all costs to the Foundation and members of the choir. It is open to women of all ages and can include patients and their families, medical professionals and those that work to support people with breast cancer, members/volunteers of the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation. Membership is on application but is free.
