Oncology Educator | Newcastle Private Hospital
Lisa has been a cancer nurse for more than 20 years, with experience in all aspects of cancer care from haematology, radiotherapy, brachytherapy, chemotherapy and palliative care.
Lisa has always had a special interest in patient support, originally volunteering with the Seize the Day teenage support group and the Living with Cancer programs at the Queensland Cancer Fund and now facilitating support groups in Newcastle - the Lingard Ladies, The Hunter Soirée and the ABC Group. Her primary role is now in oncology education, cancer awareness and patient support which makes her the perfect fit as President for the HBCF.
Project Coordinator | Compass Housing Services
Michelle has over 30 years experience in operations, business development, administration, event and project management, human resources, travel (adventure and challenge events), fundraising, marketing, brand awareness, website administration and online/social media strategies.
Michelle has spent the last ten years in Newcastle where she has developed a passion for volunteering and fundraising for local charities such as the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation, HMRI, Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, CanTeen, Camp Quality, Ronald McDonald House, Soul Cafe and the Starlight Foundation. Her community contribution earned her a spot as a finalist in the Newcastle Herald Hunter Hero Awards in 2013 and was nominated for Australian of the Year in 2016.
The consummate ‘people person’ with an innate desire to make a difference in the world, Michelle is committed to the work of HBCF in the Hunter region. Her signature fundraising event, Divas on the Green, has raised a total of 32,655.00 for the HBCF in the six years since conception of the event in 2011.
Rosalie joined in 2008 and during this time she has seen the Foundation expand its reach into the community. She proudly held the position of President for a number of years and continues to be amazed with the generosity of the community and our wonderful volunteers who also see the need for grass roots support. Rosalie has over 30 years experience in media, working for local newspapers and is heavily involved with the Hunter community.
Registered Nurse & Midwife
Lisa is a clinically practising Registered Nurse and Midwife. She has a passion for promoting breastfeeding and women's health in general and has a very strong personal and professional affinity with the Foundation.
As a mother of three children Lisa also has a background as P&F President for the local primary school her children attended and she has also held various other office bearing positions and has organised a significant number of successful fundraising events over an eleven year period.
Lisa's association with the Foundation began in 2008 with Bubbly Breakfast and she has attended every year since, while also supporting various other HBCF events. In 2012, Lisa and a group of friends organised a fundraiser called "Kick it to the Curb" which raised $12,000.00 for the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation, specifically as a thank you for the Foundation's fantastic support of a close friend who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011.
Lisa was accepted as Board Director in 2015 and is keen to assist the Foundation to grow and continue to provide the vital support services for those in our region affected by breast cancer.
Councillor | Lake Macquarie City Council
With experience in a wide range of industries; including industrial, electrical, automotive, engineering, mining, local government, aged care, not for profit, and senior management; Kevin brings extensive commercial, project management, business, and management skills to the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation.
With first-hand experience of raising a young child battling a serious illness, Kevin is passionate about giving back to our community and supporting those in need.
Finance Broker | CVG Finance
Ian is a finance broker with CVG Finance in Newcastle. He has over 25 years’ experience in the banking industry and previously set up private banking for ANZ in Newcastle. He is a past president and treasurer of Newcastle Rotary. He also founded the Rotary Newcastle to Dungog Bike Ride which has raised $60,000 for Rotary and HMRI since 2010. Ian has an MBA and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Newcastle and is very keen to assist the Board particularly in the areas of fundraising, event management, finance and marketing.
